The one paragraph that matters
This page is a directory, not the market. It lists the addresses and the instructions. It holds no coins, it takes no order, and it is not the party to a purchase, which is the whole of the disclaimer.
The disclaimer
The page lists the onion addresses the market publishes and the short instructions that go with them. It is not the market. It does not hold a balance, it does not take an order, and it does not stand behind a delivery. The party to a purchase is the market and the vendor, and the page is the place that points at them.
The addresses are copied from the operator’s announcement and compared against it. A copy can be wrong, and the page says when it last compared. The reader who relies on an address does so with that in mind, which is the same position as anyone who copies a 56 character string by hand, and the verification is the step that is theirs to take.
The educational note
Much of what the page says is written for a reader who is deciding whether to trust a market, and a decision of that kind is a personal one. The page lays out the mechanism and the limits. It does not make the decision, and the note that the content is for general information is the honest way to say that, without implying a guarantee the page cannot keep.
